already prosperous, I have blessings and I do not need it.’ Then Sayyiduna Imam-e-A’zam رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه replied, ‘Have you not heard this Hadees: Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ likes to see the effect of His blessing upon His bondman[1]; you should improve your condition so that your friend may not feel sad about your condition.’ (Tareekh Baghdad, vol. 13, pp. 358, Raqm 7297)

Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ likes neat people!

Dear Islamic brothers! From the above-mentioned parable not only have we learnt that we should help the poor and destitute Muslims, we have also learnt that we should also stay neat and clean. اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه عَزَّوَجَلَّ, Islam has not only purified a man from the impurities of Shirk (polytheism) and elevated his status and honour after blessing him with faith, it has also commanded him to keep the respect of humanity elevated through apparent purity, neatness and cleanliness, and great teachings of purity. Islam teaches us to keep everything neat and clean and attractive whether it is purity of body or neatness of dress, apparent appearance or good traits and manners, home and luggage or vehicle; in short everything should be kept neat, clean and attractive. In Ayah 222 of Surah Al-Baqarah part 2 Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ has said:

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ یُحِبُّ التَّوَّابِیْنَ وَ یُحِبُّ الْمُتَطَهِّرِیْنَ(۲۲۲)

Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: Indeed Allah loves those who repent profusely, and He loves those who purify themselves.

(Part 2, Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayah 222)

Sayyidatuna ‘Aaishah Siddiqah رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهَا has said that the Beloved Rasool        صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated: Undoubtedly, Islam is a neat and clean [religion]. Therefore, you also attain cleanliness because only the one who stays neat and clean will enter Jannah. (Kanz-ul-‘Ummal, vol. 5, pp. 123, Hadees 25996)
