and for the roofs of our houses! So the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: اِلَّا الْاِذْخِرَ, i.e. Except Izkhir grass (i.e. you are permitted to cut it).

(Sahih Bukhari, vol. 2, pp. 16, Hadees 2090)

سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه عَزَّوَجَلَّ, just ponder, despite having heard clearly about the cutting of the grass etc., of the blessed Haram being Haraam, a great blessed companion like Sayyiduna ‘Abbas رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُ is requesting the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم to declare Izkhir grass permissible which shows that             the blessed companions رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُم did not consider the Beloved Rasool             صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم to be as an ordinary human or a Bashar (human) like themselves, but rather they held this belief that Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ has given absolute power to the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم of making changes in the laws of Halal and Haraam and then the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم himself did not state that he صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم did not have this power, but rather using  his own powers he صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم declared Izkhir grass to be Halal and permissible, thus endorsing the belief of the blessed companions رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُم.
