Book Name:Museebaton Per Sabr Ka Zehin Kaisey Banay

٭ People become impatient if any organisational responsibility is taken back due to any reason or they are moved to any other department.

٭ People become impatient upon receiving trouble from the neighbour.

In short, the epidemic of impatience has taken over people from pretty much every walk of life.

Remember! Calamities, troubles and diseases are part of our life. Therefore, getting worried over them, wailing mourning, complaining and telling others about them without a Shar’i reason is by no means a practice of wise people. At such occasions, one should remain content upon the Will of Allah Almighty, remain patient firmly and keep in view the reward she will attain in exchange for it. This has always been the practice of righteous people.

Once, Sayyiduna Umar Farooq-e-A’zam رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُ said: ‘When I am inflicted with any calamity, even then I am blessed with these four blessings of Allah Almighty. (1) I don’t indulge in sin at that time due to that calamity. (2) At that time, a bigger calamity than that does not befall upon me. (3) At the time of that calamity, I remain content over it. (4) At the time of that calamity, I hope to be rewarded over it.’ (Fayz-ul-Qadeer, vol. 2, pp. 169, Taht-al-Hadees 1506)

Other than that, virtues of observing patience over calamities, troubles and illnesses have also been mentioned in blessed Ahadees. In order to develop a mind-set of observing patience, let’s listen to four blessed sayings of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.

1. The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has said: ‘Whomsoever Allah Almighty intends goodness for, He Almighty inflicts him with calamity.’ (Bukhari, Raqm, 4, vol. 4, Hadees 5645)

2. He صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has said: ‘A person is made to face calamity according to how religious he is. If he is firm in religion, then his trial will also be tough. And if he is weak in his religion, then Allah Almighty tests him according to how religious he is. A person keeps falling prey to calamities to the extent that all his sins are forgiven in this very world.’ (Ibn Majah, vol. 4, pp. 369, Raqm 4023)
