5. Keep good company

One way to adopt politeness is to keep away from bad company and adopt the company of righteous Islamic sisters.

6. Become a well-wisher of orphans and poor people

Another way to adopt politeness is to become a well-wisher of orphans and poor people, its persuasion is mentioned in a blessed Hadees:

Sayyiduna Abu Darda رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ narrates that ‘once, a person came to the blessed Court of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and complained about his hardheartedness. The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم asked him, ‘Would you         like to soften your heart?’ He humbly answered, ‘yes.’ The Holy Prophet        صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم then stated, ‘Whenever an orphan comes to you, stroke his head and feed him from your food. Your heart will become soft and your needs will be fulfilled.’ (Musannaf Abdur Razzaq, vol. 10, pp. 135, Hadees 20198)

7. Focus on the harmful effects of hardheartedness

A harmful effect of hardheartedness is that it pays no heed to any piece of advice and the heart does not incline towards good deeds. Due to hardheartedness, a person earns Allah’s displeasure and curse (being deprived of Allah’s mercy).
