Book Name:Surah Fatiha
chapter begins with the praise and glorification of Allah Almighty, followed by a dua by His slaves.
Sayyidunā Abū Hurairah رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ reports that the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “Allah Almighty states: ‘I have divided the prayer [i.e. Sūrah al-Fātiḥah] into two halves between me and My slave. The slave says:
اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ ۙ(۱)
Translation from Kanz al-Īmān: All praise is due to Allah, the owner of all the worlds.[1]
In response to this, Allah Almighty says: My slave has praised Me. The worshipper continues:
الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِیۡمِ ۙ(۲)
Translation from Kanz al-Īmān: The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.[2]
Allah Almighty states: My slave has lauded Me. The person says:
مٰلِکِ یَوۡمِ الدِّیۡنِ ؕ(۳)
Translation from Kanz al-Īmān: The Owner of the Day of Recompense.[3]
Allah Almighty replies: My slave has glorified Me. The worshipper continues:
اِیَّاکَ نَعۡبُدُ وَ اِیَّاکَ نَسۡتَعِیۡنُ ؕ(۴)
Translation from Kanz al-Īmān: You alone may we worship, and from You alone may we seek help.[4]
