Celebrating Dawat-e-Islami Day

On the 2nd of September, a radiant celebration takes centre stage—Dawat-e-Islami Day—an occasion that echoes with the legacy of devotion and transformation. Founded by the revered Shaykh al-Tareeqah Ameer Ahl al-Sunnah, Hazrat Allama Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadiri Razavi دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ, this movement has woven a tapestry of spirituality and virtue that spans continents and transcends boundaries.

It was in September 1981 that the seeds of this remarkable journey were sown in the vibrant city of Karachi. Shaykh al-Tareeqah Ameer Ahl al-Sunnah دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ embodied the noble qualities of our pious predecessors رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـهُ—fear of Allah Almighty, unwavering love for the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, and an unyielding commitment to the teachings of the Holy Quran and blessed Sunnah.

His devotion to reviving the Sunnah, asceticism, piety, forgiveness, and countless other virtues paved the way for a Madani reformation in the lives of countless Muslims, particularly the youth. Through the vehicle of "Dawat-e-Islami," he breathed life into a movement that resonated deeply with hearts across the globe.

Guided by the boundless mercies of Allah Almighty, bolstered by the blessings of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, and propelled by the devotion of the blessed Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهُم, Islamic saints, and scholars رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـهُ, the Madani message expanded beyond imagination. The tireless efforts of Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ, teachers, and countless individuals have nurtured the growth of this movement.

From its humble beginnings in Karachi, Dawat-e-Islami has journeyed far and wide. It has taken root in the heart of Pakistan, spanning regions such as Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwah, Kashmir, Baluchistan, and Gilgit Baltistan. Beyond borders, this movement has cast its transformative light across oceans and lands, including India, Bangladesh, UAE, Sri Lanka, England, Australia, Korea, South Africa, and almost every corner of the world.

Today, the impact of Dawat-e-Islami reverberates through more than 80 departments, each dedicated to serving the Sunnahs. Weekly Sunnah-inspiring congregations gather Islamic brothers and sisters separately at thousands of locations worldwide, while the Preachers embark on journeys as part of the Madani Qafilahs, spreading the light of the blessed Sunnahs far and wide.

As we commemorate Dawat-e-Islami Day, let us not only look back at the path we've traversed, the lives we've touched, but also renew our commitment. This sacred mission, guided by the motto "I must strive to reform myself and the people of the entire world اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه," reminds us of the power of unity, devotion, and a commitment to the sacred Sunnah. Let us rekindle our dedication, strengthen our resolve, and move forward with renewed steadfastness. As the spirit of Dawat-e-Islami continues to shine, uplifting hearts and souls across the world, let us embrace this Dawat-e-Islami Day as a call to action—a call to reinvigorate our journey, to embody the teachings of the Last and Greatest Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, and to make a positive impact on the world around us.
