Eid Celebrated with Seniors at Old Age Home

Spreading Eid Joy with the Elderly Residents of Karachi’s Old Age Home Far from the Love of Their Children

Recently, the Head of FGRF Pakistan, Haji Shafaat Ali Attari, along with a group of dedicated volunteers, visited an Old Age Home in Karachi City to celebrate Eid with elderly individuals who are spending their twilight years away from their families and the warmth of their children's love.

These parents, who spent their entire lives working tirelessly to raise, educate, and care for their children, now find themselves left behind waiting for a glimpse of those very children. Having entered old age with dreams of spending their remaining years in peace, watching their grown-up children succeed, they now live with the heartbreak of being abandoned in old age homes, while their children become increasingly busy in their own lives. One can only imagine the mountains of grief that must weigh on these elderly hearts, especially during festive occasions like Eid when every moment of celebration becomes a painful reminder of absence. They sit silently, eyes fixed on the door, hoping for a visit from a loved one that never comes.

To bring some light into such lives and to spread the teachings of compassion, the religious movement Dawat-e-Islami founded by lovers of the Prophet established a welfare Department known as FGRF (Faizan Global Relief Foundation). This department is devoted to humanitarian service and is tirelessly active both within Pakistan and across the globe, especially in regions affected by conflict and crisis, such as war-torn Gaza.

In line with its mission of spreading kindness and easing the pain of the underprivileged, the FGRF Pakistan team, led by Haji Shafaat Ali Attari, visited the Old Age Home in Karachi. They celebrated Eid with elderly parents and residents yearning for love and attention. The team brought sweets, meals, and gifts and spent quality time with them offering not just material gifts but heartfelt companionship, empathy, and joy.
