٭ To perform ‘Aqeeqah on the 7th day of the birth is a Sunnah and same is preferable. If not performed on the 7th day, it can be performed on the 14th or the 21st day of the birth. (Fatawa Razawiyyah, vol. 20, pp. 586)

٭ Animal for ‘Aqeeqah should meet those conditions which are required in the animal for ritual sacrifice. One can either distribute the uncooked meat to the relatives, friends and poor people or distribute cooked meat or invite them to the feast, all these conditions are permissible. (Bahar-e-Shari’at, vol. 3, pp. 357)

٭ If not on the 7th day, ‘Aqeeqah can be done on any other day. Sunnah will get fulfilled. (Bahar-e-Shari’at, vol. 3, pp. 356)

٭ If someone’s ‘Aqeeqah was not performed, it can be performed in youth or even in old age. (Fatawa Razawiyyah, vol. 20, pp. 588)

 

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب              صَلَّى اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

 

Du’a to be recited when the thought of any superstition   invokes in the heart

In the Madani Halqahs of the weekly Sunnah-inspiring Ijtima’ of Dawat-e-Islami today, the Du’a ‘when the thought of any superstition invokes in the heart’ will be taught. The Du’a is as follows:

اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا يَأتِي بِالْحَسَنَاتِ اِلَّا اَنْتَ وَلَا يَدْفَعُ السَّيِّئَاتِ اِلَّا اَنْتَ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِكَ

 

Translation: O Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ! Only You grant goodness and only You remove evil, and the capability to refrain from sins and ability to do good comes from You only. (Sunan Abi Dawood, pp. 25, vol. 4, Hadees 3919)
