Book Name:Ghareeb Faiday Main Hai
Poverty is the souvenir of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم
Sayyiduna Abdullah Bin Mughaffal رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ states: ‘One person mentioned in the presence of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم: ‘By Allah! I love you!’ He صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: ‘think about what you are saying’. He repeated: ‘By Allah! I love you’. He said this three times. Upon this, the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: ‘If you love me then prepare clothing for poverty, because poverty goes quicker towards the one who loves me than a flood does towards the place it will end. (Tirmizi, vol. 4, p. 156, Hadees 2357; Chirya aur andha sanp, p. 10) Remember! Poverty here means the poverty of the heart, and for the heart to be empty of the love of wealth’. (Mirat-ul-Manajih, vol. 7, p. 73)
