صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers! For our convenience, our pious predecessors رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيهِم have mentioned various amounts in relation to reciting ṣalāt in abundance. If we take any one of these amounts and form a habit of reciting ṣalāt upon the Prophet, then اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه we will attain many blessings. Let us listen to some opinions of the pious predecessors رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيهِم in this regard.

The statements of the pious predecessors regarding the number of alāt upon the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم

1.   ꜤAllāmah Yūsuf al-Nabhānī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه narrates the opinion of a pious predecessor who said, “The minimum amount for reciting ṣalāt in abundance is 350 every day and 350 every night.”[1]

2.   Imam ꜤAbd al-Wahhāb al-ShaꜤrānī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه relates the opinion of some scholars in Kashf al-Ghummah: “The minimum amount for sending abundant ṣalāt upon the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is 700 every night and 700 every morning.”[2]

3.   The renowned Hadith master, Shaykh ꜤAbd al-Ḥaqq Muḥaddith Dihlawī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه states:

Be sure to recite 1,000 ṣalāt every day, if not, then consider 500
