Book Name:Surah e Zilzal

As per the schedule of Dawat-e-Islami’s weekly gathering, we shall now memorise a duaˈ. This week, we shall learn the duaˈ to be recited when thanking somebody.

جَزَاکَ  اللّٰہ   خَیْرًا[1]

May Allah Almighty give you goodness.

This short phrase contains acknowledgement that bounties and blessings are from Allah Almighty, highlights one’s humility, and it itself is a prayer for goodness to be given to another. This is the real meaning behind thanking somebody.[2]

A hadith explains that the one who is not grateful to people, is not grateful to Allah Almighty.[3]
