The renowned spiritual guide and leader of Ahl al-Sunnah, Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ, in his book Backbiting: A Cancer in Our Society, narrates:
Sayyidunā Mālik b. Dīnār رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه mentions that Prophet ꜤĪsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم once passed by a dead dog and his disciples remarked, "How foul-smelling this dog is!"
In response, Prophet ꜤĪsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم said, "Look at how white its teeth are!"
This indicates that Prophet ꜤĪsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم not only refrained from speaking negatively about the dead dog but also cautioned his disciples against backbiting or highlighting flaws, even in mute creatures. Instead, he encouraged them to focus on and mention the positive qualities of everything.[1]
Dear Islamic brothers, did you hear about the exemplary character of Prophet ꜤĪsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم? His ethics were so refined that he refrained from mistreating even animals. Imagine then the lofty character of the Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, whose noble conduct inspired countless non-Muslims to embrace Islam.
