Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: ‘O People who Believe! May not your wealth or your children cause you to neglect the remembrance of Allah; and whoever does this – so it is they who are in a loss.’

Mufti Sayyid Na’eemuddin Muradabadi رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه has stated in the commentary of this blessed Ayah: ‘Here remembrance of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ implies five times Salah or the Holy Quran. And (one who remains heedless of the remembrance of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ) i.e., forgets Deen by engrossing himself in worldly activities, does not care about his own condition due to indulging himself in the intoxication of wealth and remains heedless of the comfort of hereafter for the pleasure of his offspring (such person is in loss). He did not care about his eternal life of hereafter due to the mortal worldly life.

(Khaza’in-ul-Irfan, Al-Munafiqoon, Ayah 09)

Who guarantees sustenance?

Undoubtedly, no one can deny this admitted fact that, all the living beings in the world whether they are advanced and civilized dwellers of cities or the villagers of the villages, beasts living in dense forests or the birds living in the nest made on the tops of trees, the fish living in the depths of oceans or the insects living inside the bellies of stones reciting Tasbeeh (Praising to Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ) Guarantee of the sustenance of every living being rests with Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ alone. Hence, it is stated in blessed Quran:

وَ مَا مِنْ دَآبَّةٍ فِی الْاَرْضِ اِلَّا عَلَى اللّٰهِ رِزْقُهَا

Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: ‘And there is none that walks upon the earth whose sustenance does not depend on the mercy of Allah.’
