*   He صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم also said: The one who caused harm to his neighbour, he has harmed me, and the one who harmed me, he has caused harm to Allah Almighty. (Attargheeb Wattarheeb, vol. 3, p. 286, Hadees 3907)

*   It is written in Nuzha-tul-Qaari: Every person understands who a neighbour is according to his own customs and norms. (Nuzhat-ul-Qaari, vol. 5, p. 568)

*   Imam Muhammad Ghazali رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states: From the rights of the neighbour (Islamic sister) is that she should give her Salam first.

*   Do not have long conversations with the neighbour [Islamic sister].

*   Do not enquire too much about her affairs.

*   If she falls ill then enquire about her health.

*   At times of grief, show her compassion and support her.

*   At times of happiness, congratulate her and express your participation in her happiness.

*   Forgive her shortcomings.

*   Do not peer into her house from the roof.

*   Do not restrict the path to her house.

*   Hide her shortcomings.

*   If she is involved in an accident or other incident, then help her immediately.

*   If she is not home, then do not be heedless in protecting her home.

*   Do not listen to any words that are spoken against her and keep your gaze lowered from her (female) family members.

*   Guide her in those religious and worldly affairs which she has no knowledge about. (Ihya-ul-‘Uloom, vol. 2, pp. 267 Summarised)
