Remaining Sunnahs and etiquettes of fragrance
* The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would always utilise the most excellent of perfumes, and tell others to do the same.[1]
* The Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم) disliked bad smells.[2]
* Men should utilise fragrances that spread but do not leave visible marks.[3]
* Women have been forbidden from wearing fragrance if its smell reaches a man she does not know. If she wears perfume or fragrance at home, and the smell reaches her husband, children, mother, and father, then there is no issue.[4]
* Islamic sisters should not wear a perfume, whose smell will diffuse and reach a non-Mahram man via the air.[5]
* The Messenger of Allah (صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم) stated: ‘When a woman passes by a gathering wearing perfume, she is so-and-so. (Meaning, she is a fornicator).[6]
