The Very Basic Creed Of A Muslim Is To Believe In The Oneness Of Allah Almighty. After Having This Belief, There Must Be A Connection Of A Muslim With His Lord Almighty. How Can This Connection Be Established? How Can One Get Close To The Blessed Court Of Allah Almighty? How Can One Become The Beloved Of Allah Almighty? Answers Of These Questions Are Very Important For A Muslim. The One Who Wants To Please Lord Almighty Searches For The Answer Of These Questions. The One Answer To These Questions Is That; One Must Always Praise And Thank The Lord Almighty. The Best Wordings For The Praise And Gratitude Of Allah Almighty Are In The Very First Ayah Of The Holy Quran “الحمد لله رب العلمين”. When A Bondsman Praises Lord Almighty, He Receives Blessings From His Lord Almighty. The Importance Of Praising Allah Almighty Is Mentioned In Many Blessed Hadiths. Let Us Read Few Of Them:
Hadith 1
It is narrated by Hazrat Anas Bin Malik رضی اللہ عنہ, that the beloved Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Allah عزوجل becomes happy with this habit of (man) individual that if he eats something, he praises Allah عزوجل and if he drinks something, he praises Allah عزوجل.
(Muslim, Kitab ul zikar, page 1463, Hadees No 89)
Hadith 2
Hazrat Jabir Bin Abdullah رضی اللہ عنہ narrates, the Holy Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: the greatest of all Zikr is “لَآ اِلٰــہَ اِلَّا اللہ” and the greatest Dua is “اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ”.
(Ibn e Majah, Kitab ul Adab, Vol 4, Page 248, Hadees 3800)
Hadith 3
It is narrated by Hazrat Anas Bin Malik رضی اللہ عنہ, the Holy Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said, “when Allah عزوجل reveals some blessing on His bondsman and that bondman says “اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ”, on receiving that blessing, that praise is greater near Allah عزوجل than that blessing.” (Ibn e Majah, Kitab ul Adab, Vol 4, Page 250, Hadees 3805)
Dear brothers! We come to know from these blessed Hadees the greatness of rank of “الحمد لله رب العلمين” is that it is mentioned as a best Dua in the blessed saying of the beloved Rasool صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and we also come to know that Allah Almighty gets pleased with the one who praises him after every blessing. We are receiving blessings of Allah Almighty each and every second but how much gratitude are we paying to our Lord Almighty? If we try to establish a habit of saying “الحمد لله رب العلمين” on the blessings of Allah Almighty, we will start paying gratitude to Him.
We should also keep this fact in mind that when we pay gratitude to our Allah Almighty, we receive more blessings. In other words, our blessings keep increasing if we pay gratitude on the blessings as this fact is mentioned in the holy Quran. Our Lord Almighty says in the Holy Quran:
Translation from Kanz ul Iman: “If you give thanks, I will give you more,”
From this blessed Ayah, we come to know that if we pay gratitude on blessings and say thanks, blessings will increase. Now it is our choice. We should ask ourselves; do we need the blessings of Allah Almighty more or less? Answer to this question is clear. We all want more and more blessings from the blessed court of Allah Almighty. The simple method for that is mentioned above.
Praise of Allah Almighty and saying thanks to him also teaches us to say thanks to people. For healthy and good society, it is vital manner to say thanks to each other on the favors we receive from others. If we have the mindset to thank, we will thank the people as well our Lord Almighty. Start reciting this blessed Ayah “الحمد لله رب العلمين” with the intention of saying thanks to Allah Almighty. You will receive great blessings in this world as well in the hereafter.
