Litanies
Protection from calamities, suffering, and pain
Recite یَا مُسَبِّبَ الْاَسْبَاب (yā Musabbib al-asbāb) 500 times, with 11 ṣalāt upon the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم before and after. This should be done after ʿIshāˈ salah, whilst facing qibla, in the state of wudu, and bare-headed.
Recite in a place where no barrier remains between you and the sky. Islamic sisters should recite in a place where no non-maḥrams can see them.[1]
If Allah Almighty wills, you will be granted what you seek.
Laziness in work and business
Whoever is uninterested or lazy in their work and business, Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri provides them the following litany. Write یَااَللہُ 101 times on a piece of paper, make it an amulet, and tie it around your arm. اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه You will find passion and interest in your halal job or business.[2]
Dua during severely cold weather
The following is the summary of a Hadith.
During extremely cold weather when a person says, “لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللہُ، یا اَللہ – Today is very cold! O Allah! Save me from the Zamharīr of Jahannam”, Allah then declares to Jahannam, “My slave asks to be saved from you and I have saved him from you.”[3]
Recite this dua whenever it is extremely cold. Zamharīr is a place of Hellfire which harbours of a punishment of cold. When a disbeliever is cast into it, their body shatters into pieces due to the unimaginable coldness.[4]
Litany to cure the illness of sins
Whoever recites یَا بَـرُّ (yā Barru) seven times daily with ṣalāt upon the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم once before and after, and proceeds to blow upon their heart; such a person will be cured from the illness of sins اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه.[5]
