Dear Islamic sisters! That non-Muslim made a Muslim person happy. As a result, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, from His grace, blessed him with a great bounty in the form of faith in return for pleasing another person. Just ponder! When such a great and priceless blessing like faith can be attained by pleasing others, then how can other blessings of this world and hereafter not be attained. Therefore, we should also make it a habit of pleasing others. Let’s listen to the definition of pleasing others:

Definition of pleasing others and its virtues

Pleasing others, being kind and loving, consoling, comforting; all of these words have the same meaning. They all mean to sympathise with others, to make others happy, to make happiness enter into their hearts, etc. اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه pleasing others holds great importance in our religion. Whilst refraining from places of tribulation (fitnah), a Muslim man pleasing other Muslim men, his Maharim (who he cannot marry) and his children’s mother, and similarly a Muslim woman pleasing other Muslim women, her Maharim and her children’s father, is a means of great reward. Where doing this will make the hereafter better, it will also establish an excellent environment of love and devotion in society. Let’s listen to some blessed Ahadees with regards to how much reward one can gain through pleasing others:

   ۔1The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: ‘In the sight of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, the best action after performing Faraid [obligatory] acts is to make happiness enter the heart of a Muslim.’(Mu’jam Kabeer, vol. 11, pp. 59, Hadees 11079)

   ۔2The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: ‘No doubt, pleasing your own Muslim brother is from those acts that makes forgiveness compulsory.’ (Mu’jam  Awsat, vol. 6, pp. 129, Hadees 8245)

   ۔3The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: ‘مَنْ سَرَّ مُؤْمِنًا فَقَدْسَرَّاللہَ i.e. whoever has made a Muslim happy, he has pleased Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ.’(Hilya-tul-Awliya, vol. 3, pp. 66, Hadees 3188; Kitab-ul-Mujruheen La Ibn-e-Habbaan, vol. 2, pp. 297, Raqm 977)

   ۔4The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: ‘Whoever makes a Muslim happy, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ creates an angel from that happiness who worships
