months, carrying severe weakness and bearing the hardships of the journey, he left the caravan but did not leave the most superior act of worship, i.e. Salah. We should punctually offer Salah on every occasion, whether it is an occasion of happiness or sorrow. Moreover, those who do not know how to offer Salah should not feel embarrassed at all in learning it. Those who know how to offer Salah, but do not do so due to falling prey to Satanic whispers such as “I am a grave sinner. I am not worthy of presenting myself in the court of Allah Almighty.” or “Let me become pious first. Let me grow a beard first. Then I will start offering Salah”; Such people should remove such satanic whispers straight away and start offering Salah. اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه due to its blessings, they will succeed in refraining from sins. Allah Almighty says in Juz 21, Surah Al-‘Ankaboot, verse number 45:
اِنَّ الصَّلٰوةَ تَنْهٰى عَنِ الْفَحْشَآءِ وَ الْمُنْكَرِؕ-
Translation from Kanz al-Iman: Indeed Salah stops indecency and evil.
In the commentary of this verse, ‘Allamah Sayyid Mufti Muhammad Na’im al-Din Muradabadi رَحْمَةُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْه states:
The one who is punctual in his Salah and offers it properly; as a result of this, he will one day abandon the sins he would once indulge in. Sayyiduna Anas رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ narrates, a young Ansari used to offer Salah with the Messenger of the Allah صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. This young person used to commit various major sins. People complained about him to the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and in reply he explained, ‘His Salah will stop him from these issues one day.’ The young Ansari repented soon after and his condition became better. Thief became saint due to the blessing of Salah
A thief once entered the house of Sayyidatuna Rabi’ah Basriyyah رَحْمَةُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْھا at night. He searched through the whole house but could not find anything except for an ewer. When he intended to leave, she said: “If you are a wise and clever thief, you will not leave empty handed.” He said: “I could not find
