The Joy of Worship

Book Name:The Joy of Worship

He رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was born in 80 AH and was a Ḥusaynī sayyid. In terms of his lineage, he is the son of Imam Muḥammad Bāqir رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, grandson of Imam Zayn al-ꜤĀbidīn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, and great grandson of Sayyid al-Shuhadāˈ Imam Ḥusayn رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ. Another amazing point regarding his family background is his honourable mother Sayyidah Umm Farwah رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا descending from the first Caliph of the Muslims, Sayyidunā Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq   رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ.

This makes Imam JaꜤfar Ṣādiq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ Ḥusayni through his blessed father and Ṣiddīqī from his blessed mother.[1]

The great imam رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ lived for 68 years and passed away on the 15th of Rajab in 148 AH. He is buried in Jannat al-BaqīꜤ.[2]

He first called upon Allāh by saying یَا رَبّ, then continuously repeated یَا رَبّ یَا رَبّ until he ran out of breath. He then began saying یَارَبَّاہٗ, and again repeated یَارَبَّاہٗ یَارَبَّاہٗ until his breath ran short. After this he said, یَا اللہ یَا اللہ until running out of breath, and then called upon Allāh, saying یَا حَیُّ یَاحَیُّ, یَا رَحِیْمُ یَارَحِیْمُ and ending with یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمین.

The pious man did all this seven times. I was stood hidden nearby, watching all of this occur. He had not finished making duꜤāˈ, when a bunch of grapes and two newly made shawls appeared from the unseen. This was despite the fact it was not the season for grapes, and they could not be found anywhere. The pious
