Book Name:The Joy of Worship
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers! Bringing this speech to an end, let us discuss some sunan of the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and their excellences. Also, we will discuss certain etiquettes and manners we can implement in our lives. The Messenger of Allāh صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, مَنْ اَحَبَّ سُنَّتِي فَقَدْ اَحَبَّنِي وَمَنْ اَحَبَّنِي كَانَ مَعِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ - “He who loves my sunnah loves me, and he who loves me will be with me in Paradise.”[1]
The sunan and etiquette of eating
Dear Islamic brothers! Let us now discuss some sunan and etiquette related to eating extracted from Maktaba-tul-Madīnah’s book, Sunnatein aur Ādāb.
* Before eating, wash your hands up to the wrists. The Messenger of Allāh صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “Whoever likes for Allāh to place more blessings in his home should perform wuḍūˈ when food is presented and when it is taken away.”[2] Mufti Aḥmad Yār Khān رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه explains the wuḍūˈ mentioned in this hadith to mean, “cleaning the hands and mouth by washing the hands and rinsing the mouth.”[3]
