Amīr MuꜤāwiya رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ is guided and a guide
ꜤAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abū ꜤUmayr رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ said, “The Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم made the following dua for MuꜤāwiya: اَللّٰہُمَّ اجْعَلْہُ ھَادِیًا مَہْدِیاً وَاهْدِ بِہٖ - ‘O Allah! Make MuꜤāwiya a guide, render him guided, and guide through him!’”[1]
Let us try to understand the gravity of this amazing dua. Firstly, remember the duas of the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم are always accepted. Let alone dua, his greatness is such that he simply raises his head to the sky, and Allah changes the qibla to wherever he wishes.
With Allah’s permission, the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم split the moon in two pieces by just raising his blessed finger. With a gesture, he returned the sun which had set back into the sky. Now think; when Allah placed this much power and efficacy in the gestures of His Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, imagine the inexplainable power of the Prophet’s duas.
