Sunan and manners of cutting one’s nails

We will now discuss some sunan and manners regarding cutting one’s nails. These were extracted from Mawlana Ilyas Attar al-Qadiri’s book, entitled 101 Madani Pearls.

*    It is mustaḥabb (recommended) to cut one’s nails on Friday. One should not wait for Friday if they have become very long.[2] Muftī Amjad ꜤAlī al-AꜤẓamī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه writes, “The one who cuts their nails on a Friday, Allah will protect them from calamities until the next Friday, and three additional days, i.e., for ten days.”

It is also narrated that by cutting nails on a Friday, mercy arrives and sins depart.[3]
