Allah (God) Is The Most Beneficent And Merciful

The Most Beneficent And Merciful

A Muslim believes that God of the whole universe and of each and every thing is only Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty has beautiful names and His every name has unique meanings. His names teach us and make us understand about His majesty. His all names are great and blessed. When we recite them we feel comfort and serenity in our heart and body. Allah Almighty told us about His great names in the blessed Quran let us read blessed Ayah about the great names of Allah Almighty;

وَ لِلّٰہِ الۡاَسۡمَآءُ الۡحُسۡنٰی فَادۡعُوۡہُ بِہَا

And for Allah only are the best names, so invoke Him with them;

(Surah Al-Aaraaf, Ayah 180)

In this blessed Ayah Allah Almighty mentioned about His best names and told us to invoke Him with them. Whenever we get into any trouble and problem, we should invoke Him with His names. He, the Almighty, will bless us with mercy and blessings. All the names have their different meanings. If we invoke the blessed names of mercy, we will receive mercy of Allah Almighty. These names are “الرحمن الرحيم” .The meanings of these names are full of mercy. The meanings of these blessed names give us hope on the mercy of Allah Almighty. When we invoke “الرحمن الرحيم” and ponder over the meanings “The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful. we feel that He Almighty is so merciful that He will shower His mercy upon us.

رحمن and رحيم are two attributive names of Allah Almighty; رحمن means “that being, as well as being one that bestows blessings, which is very merciful”, and رحیم means “the one who shows great mercy.”

One should remember that it is only the being of Allah Almighty, in reality, which grants blessings and bounties. It is His being alone that does not seek reward for showing mercy. Every small, large, seen, unseen, physical, spiritual, wordly and heavenly blessing or bounty is bestowed by no other than Allah Almighty, any blessing that has reached anyone in the world is due in fact to the mercy of Allah Almighty as creating the urge in the heart of someone to be merciful, the power to enact that mercy, the very existence of blessings and bounties and the presence of someone to receive the blessing and benefit from it by having been granted soundness and completeness in body and limbs comes all from Allah Almighty.

After reading about the mercy of Allah Almighty, do not become careless about His commandments and do not commit sins assuming that Allah Almighty is merciful.

It is related from Abu Hurayrah رضی اللہ عنہ: “The messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said, ‘If the believer came to know of the quantity of punishment with Allah Almighty, no one would be expectant and hopeful of His paradise, and if the disbeliever came to know of the quantity of mercy with Allah Almighty, no one would lose hope of His paradise.’

Therefore, every Muslim should remain between hope and fear and not, seeing the vastness of the mercy of Allah Almighty, become unfearful of sins nor, realizing the great intensity of the punishment of Allah Almighty, despair of His mercy.

Let us read few sublime sayings of the beloved Rasool صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم regarding the blessed and best names of Allah Almighty and make our mind to memorize them.
