Major Events of Jumada al-Ula

2nd Jumada al-Ula, 1286 AH

The grandfather of Imam Ahmad Razā Khan, Mawlana Razā ʿAlī Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه passed away.

7th Jumada al-Ula, 735 AH

Sayyidunā Abū al-Fat Rukn al-Dīn Suhrawardī, famously known as Shah Rukn-i-Alam رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه passed away.

8th Jumada al-Ula, 1334 AH

Sayyidunā Mawlana Waī Ahmad رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه, the hadith master of Surat, India, passed away.

17th Jumada al-Ula, 73 AH

Sayyidunā ʿAbdullah b. Zubayr رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُمَا was martyred.

17th Jumada al-Ula, 1362 AH

The son of Imam Ahmad Raza Khan, Mufti Muhammad āmid Razā Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه passed away.

22nd Jumada al-Ula, 578 AH

The leader of the saints and celebrated spiritual master of the Rifāʿī Way, Sayyid Ahmad al-Kabīr al-Shāfiʿī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه passed away.

27th Jumada al-Ula, 73 AH

Sayyidatunā Asmāʾ bint Abī Bakr al-iddīq رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُمَا passed away.

Jumada al-Ula, 4 AH

The Prophet’s grandson, Sayyidunā ʿAbdullah رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ passed away. His parents were Sayyidunā ʿUthmān b. ʿAffān رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ and the Prophet’s beloved daughter, Sayyidatunā Ruqayya رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا.

27th or 28th Jumada al-Ula, 13 AH

Many Muslims were martyred during the Battle of Ajnadayn, including Sayyidunā Hishām b. ʿĀ and Sayyidunā Khālid b. Saʿīd رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُمَا. The Muslims were granted victory on this day.

Jumada al-Ula, 8 AH

Thirteen brave Companions embraced martyrdom during the Battle of Muʾta, including Sayyidunā Jaʿfar al-ayyār, Zayd b. āritha, and ʿAbdullah b. Rawāa—may Allah be pleased with them all.
