Ya ALLAH! Mein Hazir Hon

Book Name:Ya ALLAH! Mein Hazir Hon

We learn that the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم encouraged us to recite لَبَّيْكَ اَللّٰھُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ everyday. It is not restricted to when we perform Hajj and ꜤUmrah, so we should make a habit of reciting it with dedication, daily, to express our love and obedience to Allah Almighty.

The Meaning of the talbiyyah

ꜤAllāmah Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه states regarding this Hadith:

The word لَبَّيْكَ  appears twice in the sentence اَللّٰھُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ. In the Arabic language, when a word is repeated, the meaning is repeated. So, the meaning of لَبَّيْكَ اَللّٰھُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ would not be “O Allah! I am present” or “I am present today”, rather it would be “O Allah! Whenever You command me, I am present. I am always present. I will never disobey Your commands.”[1]

ꜤAllāmah Ibn Rajab al-Ḥanbalī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه further states:

When someone recites لَبَّيْكَ اَللّٰھُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ every morning, as taught by the Greatest Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, it means, “O Allah! I wake up in the state of accepting Your message. I obey Your command and refrain from that which You prohibit. I am steadfast in my obedience to You, and I fulfil Your commands swiftly.” After saying this, it is necessary to manifest this statement through your actions so that your speech and deeds do not contradict one another.[2]

The Commands of Allah Almighty and the response of the believers

O devotees of the Prophet! Reflect! The beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم taught us to enthusiastically recite لَبَّيْكَ اَللّٰھُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ in the court of Allah
