صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers! This world is a field for the Hereafter; whatever a person sows in this world, they will reap in the Hereafter. The Day of Judgment is a day when rewards for good deeds and punishments for sins will be given. Despite knowing all this, we remain distant from worshipping Allah and indifferent to fulfilling the rights of His creation. Instead, we are engrossed in lying, backbiting, gossiping, deceit, and worldly pleasures, neglecting our preparation for the Hereafter and not attempting to change ourselves for the better.
There are many obstacles to self-reformation, but today’s discussion will focus on three main reasons:
1. Fleeting hopes
2. Lack of self-accountability – not reviewing one's deeds
3. Bad company
Let us pray that we are able to listen to the entire speech with sincere intentions.
Let us begin by listening to a story
A king in Basra renounced his throne and took on a life of piety, only to return later to worldly pleasures. He built a grand palace, adorned it with luxurious furnishings, and set up a lavish guest room filled with food and decorations. He invited people to admire the opulence, which they praised endlessly.
