* First and foremost, learning the basic beliefs of Islam is obligatory.

* Those who are obligated to give zakat must learn the necessary rules of zakat.
* If Hajj becomes obligatory, learning the rules of Hajj is a must.
* If someone intends to marry, learning the rules of nikāḥ is required.
* A businessman must learn the rules of business.
* A buyer must learn the rules of purchasing.
* An employer and an employee must learn the rules of employment.
In short, every sane and mature Muslim, male or female, must learn the Islamic rulings related to their current situation.
* Similarly, learning what is halal and haram is also compulsory.
* Learning about inner (spiritual) duties, such as humility, sincerity, and reliance on Allah Almighty; this is also mandatory.
* One must also learn about inner sins, such as arrogance, showing off, jealousy, suspicion, hatred, and enmity, and how to cure them.
