Some important words of advice to those affiliated with Dawat-e-Islami
Shaykh al-Tareeqah Ameer Ahl al-Sunnah, Hazrat Allama Mawlana Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadiri Razavi دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ
(1) Undoubtedly, no members of the Central Executive Committee of Dawat-e-Islami, an organization that fosters immense love for the Greatest and Final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, nor any other organizational responsible Islamic brothers, including Sag-e-Madinah عفی عنہ (the author), are free from mistakes.
(2) Never search for someone’s faults, as it is a sin. If you happen to learn about someone’s personal shortcomings, conceal them. However, if someone makes a mistake (or repeatedly makes mistakes) that genuinely harms or could harm the religious activities of Dawat-e-Islami—not merely in your assumption but in reality—and you sincerely wish to protect Dawat-e-Islami from this harm for the sake of Allah Almighty’s pleasure, and you have certain knowledge of this through your own observation, the admission of the individual, or credible information, then address the matter within the boundaries of Shariah. Gently counsel the person in private. Do not disclose their mistakes to others without a valid Shariah reason, as this could lead to backbiting, slander, and the spread of discord.
In many cases of tribulations (fitan), the warning mentioned in the Hadith applies: “Tribulation (fitnah) is sleeping, so may the curse of Allah Almighty be upon the one who awakens it.”[1]
(3) If you attribute a fault to any member of Dawat-e-Islami’s Central Executive Committee without a valid Shariah justification and fail to provide Shariah-compliant evidence, then consider yourself excluded from Dawat-e-Islami. Similarly, if such an accusation is made against someone who is not a member of the Central Executive Committee and no Shariah-compliant evidence is provided, then the organizational authorities may take any decision regarding the accuser. In all such decisions, the rulings of Shariah will be duly observed.
(4) If the harmful mistake of a Shura member or a Responsible Islamic brother is proven, the Shura members will decide the matter in the case of a Shura member, while the Responsible Islamic brothers will handle the case of a non-Shura member. All decisions, made within the framework of Shariah, will be binding upon the members of Dawat-e-Islami.
(5) If you addressed the person responsible for the issue that caused harm not to you personally but to the organization, yet the matter remained unresolved, then, if permissible under Shariah, you should approach their Nigran with the intention of reformation. If the problem still persists, you may, with the same intention and in accordance with Shariah, escalate the matter gradually to senior Responsible Islamic brothers. However, if you discuss the issue with anyone without Shariah-sanctioned permission, it will be considered 'lobbying' in organizational terms, which is strictly prohibited in Dawat-e-Islami.
(No organization in the world tolerates lobbying or factionalism within its ranks, as it harms the organization. Since the organization reserves the right to hold lobbyists accountable and take any necessary decisions about them, it may even exclude them from the organization. The reality is that loyal members of an organization do not engage in lobbying or factionalism in the first place.)
(6) Often, problems begin when hearsay negative remarks about someone are believed and then passed on. The Final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has said: 'It is enough for a person to be considered a liar that he narrates everything he hears.'[2]
(7) If someone tries to share negative remarks about someone without a valid reason, we should avoid listening altogether. However, if it is possible to address the issue and bring about reformation while avoiding conflict, then one may listen with a good intention to work toward a solution. (This guideline is for the general Muslims; the organizational guidelines have already been outlined.)
(8) All Islamic brothers and sisters should wholeheartedly and sincerely continue participating in the religious activities of Dawat-e-Islami, a Sunnah-inspired religious organization that instils the love of the Greatest Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, encourages piety, and helps people avoid sins, with the intention of earning rewards. They should avoid mistrust, backbiting, fault-finding, and hurting others so that the religious activities of Dawat-e-Islami are not harmed, and they do not accumulate detriments for their Hereafter.
May Allah Almighty grant all of us the spirit of respecting fellow Muslims. It is essential for every member of Dawat-e-Islami to accept and act upon every decision and principle of its Central Executive Committee, as long as it is not against Shariah. This adherence ensures the system and continuity of this Sunnah-inspired organization. May Allah Almighty grant us the ability to engage only in actions that bring rewards.
(Translation: May Allah Almighty grant me death upon faith before
I become a cause of harm to the Sunnah of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.)
