Sayyiduna Dahhak b. Qays and Sayyiduna Abu Juhayfah رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُمَا

Young Companions

Sayyidunā aḥḥāk b. Qays and Sayyidunā Abū Juayfah رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُمَا

Dear readers! Sayyidunā aḥḥāk b. Qays and Sayyidunā Abū Juayfah رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُمَا were young noble Companions of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. Let us read about them and illuminate our hearts with the love of the noble Companions رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُم.

Sayyidunā aḥḥāk b. Qays رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ

He رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ was born in 3 AH[1], seven years before the passing of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. He is the son of Sayyidah Umaymah and the younger brother of Sayyidah Fāimah bint Qays رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهُمْ.[2]

The fortunate and disgraced in the world and the Hereafter

Sayyidunā aḥḥāk b. Qays رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ transmitted several Aādīth.[3] He reports that the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “When someone joins his people and they welcome him, he will be welcomed on the Day he meets Allah Almighty too. The one who is spoken ill of when he joins his people will have a brutal experience on the Day of Judgement.”[4]

Death

Sayyidunā aḥḥāk b. Qays رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ was 7 years old when the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم left this physical world, and he was martyred on 15 Dhū al-ijjah at the age of 61 during the Battle of Marj Rāhi.[5]

Sayyidunā Abū Juayfah Wahb b. Abdullāh رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ

He رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ was a young companion who heard and transmitted the speech of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.[6] He reported a total of 45 Aādīth.[7]

Ask the Scholars Questions

He رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ reports that the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “Sit with the elders, ask the scholars questions, and adopt the company of the wise.”[8]

Death

Sayyidunā Abū Juayfah رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ was a child when the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم left this physical world. He رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ passed away in 72 AH.[9]

May Allah Almighty have mercy upon them and forgive us without accountability for their sake.

اٰمِیْنْ بِجَاہِ خاتَمِ النَّبِیّٖن صلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہ ِوَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ
