صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب              صَلَّى اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers! Undoubtedly, the blessed and sacred lives of our pious predecessors are role model for us. The word of ‘un-thankfulness’ was never included in their dictionary, because these personages would appreciate blessings in a real manner. These Allah-loving people would never be heedless of remembering the blessings of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ and expressing thanks for them. The manner of expressing thanks of these personages was so beautiful that when they would eat and drink (water etc.), wear or do anything, they would praise the blessings of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. Sometimes they would spend their nights counting the favours of their Lord عَزَّوَجَلَّ and this would continue until the next morning. For persuasion, let’s listen to the manner of expressing thanks of some pious predecessors and form the habit of thanking Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ for His blessings.

The reason for calling Sayyiduna Nuh ‘عَبۡدًا شَكُوۡرًا’

Sayyiduna Sa’d Bin Mas’ood Saqafi رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه said: (In the Holy Quran) Sayyiduna Nuh عَـلٰى نَبِـيِّـنَا وَ عَـلَيْـهِ الـصَّلٰوة ُ وَالـسَّلَام has been called as ‘عَبۡدًا شَكُوۡرًا’ (i.e. great thankful bondman) because whenever he عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام wore a new dress or ate any food, he would thank Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ.
