Book Name:Quran Kay Huqooq
اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه we will hear about ‘The Rights of the Holy Quran’ and try to understand them too. May Allah Almighty give us the ability to value this great book, to recite it abundantly, to obtain guidance from it and to fill our chests with its light.
اٰمِیْن بِجَاہِ النَّبِیِّ الْاَمِیْن صلَّی اللہ علیہ واٰلہٖ وسلَّم
Sayyiduna Tameem bin Aws al-Daari
رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ is a companion of the Blessed
Prophet; he brought faith in the 9th Hijri and entered the folds of
Islam. He was a great worshipper, such that one night he was unable to perform Tahajjud
prayer, and as expiation for this, he did not sleep for the entire year. He
would devote the whole night to worship, he would recite the whole Quran in one
unit of prayer, and sometimes he would repeat the same verse until dawn. He had
the honour of lighting the first oil lamp in al-Masjid al-Nabawi. It is
narrated from him in the well-known book of Hadith, ‘Sahih Muslim’, that the Holy
Prophet
صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ
وَسَلَّم said: اَلدِّیْنُ
النَّصِیْحَۃُ
‘The religion is
sincere advice.’
Generally speaking, to give good counsel to someone is to give them nasihah, but in this Hadith, the word nasiha is used in terms of Arabic, and its meaning in Arabic is to be pure or to purify, so the meaning of this hadith is: Religion is to be pure. The noble Sahaba عَـلَيْهِمُ الرِّضْوَانْ asked: ‘O Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! The religion is to be pure for whom?’ The Blessed Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم mentioned 5 things in response to this:
1. لِلّٰہِ To be pure for Allah Almighty
2. وَلِکِتَابِہٖ To be pure for His book
3. وَلِرَسُوْلِہٖ To be pure for His Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم
