As he was born without a father and the fact sayyidatunā Maryam رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا was a virgin, she became worried in regards to what people of the village would say. Due to the potential ill-opinion and insults they would aim at her, she did not want to enter said village.

She was sitting in a desolate place under a dry date-palm tree, where there was no food or drink. Suddenly, sayyidunā Jibril عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام descended and struck his heel on the ground, causing a stream to flow, and the dry date-palm tree became fresh at once, bearing ripe fruit. Sayyidunā Jibril عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام then called out to Sayyidatunā Maryam رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا, saying:

فَنَادٰىہَا مِنۡ تَحۡتِہَاۤ  اَلَّا تَحۡزَنِیۡ قَدۡ جَعَلَ  رَبُّکِ  تَحۡتَکِ  سَرِیًّا (۲۴)وَ ھُزِّیۡۤ  اِلَیۡکِ بِجِذۡعِ النَّخۡلَۃِ  تُسٰقِطۡ عَلَیۡکِ  رُطَبًا جَنِیًّا (۲۵)فَکُلِیۡ وَ اشۡرَبِیۡ وَ قَرِّیۡ عَیۡنًا ۚ

Translation from Kanz ul Iman: (The angel) therefore called her from underneath (the date tree); that 'Do not grieve; undoubtedly, your Lord has made a stream flow below you.' 'And grab the trunk of the date tree and shake it towards you; fresh ripe dates will fall upon you.' 'So, eat and drink, and keep your eyes cool (because of your son)^[1]

Dear Islamic brothers! No doubt, the tree becoming full of fruit and the stream suddenly appearing are both miracles of sayyidatunā Maryam رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا. When sayyidatunā Maryam رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا was a young girl and would carry out her worship in the mehrab of Bayt al-Maqdis she would receive out-of-season fruits without any effort. Although she received ripe dates after the birth of sayyidunā ʿĪsā عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام, Allah Almighty commanded her to shake the root of the date-palm, and only then would she receive dates.
