1.   “He who kept a voluntary fast, Allah Almighty shall keep him away from Hellfire by the distance travelled in forty years.”[1]

2.   “Whosoever kept a voluntary fast for a day and was given enough gold to fill the earth, this shall still not fulfil its entire reward, as this will only be given on the Day of Judgement.”[2]

*   Keeping many voluntary fasts in a sunnah of our Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ واٰلہٖ وَسَلَّمَ.

*   Prophet Sulaymān عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم fasted three days in the beginning, middle, and end of each month.[3]

*   If parents stop their child from fasting due to fear of illness, they should be listened to.[4]

*   A wife cannot keep a voluntary fast without the permission of her husband.[5]
