The remaining points regarding voluntary fasts

*   When a person intentionally begins keeping a voluntary fast, it is wājib for them to complete it. If they break it, it is wājib to make up for it.[1]

*   If an employee or labourer keeps a voluntary fast but cannot fully carry out their job, they must ask permission from their employer before they can fast. If their work is not affected adversely, permission is not needed.[2]

*   If a student of sacred knowledge finds even the slightest issue arise in their studies from keeping voluntary fasts, they should only fast on weekends instead. If participants in Madani Qafilahs find themselves suffering physical weakness by keeping voluntary fasts, they should not keep them. This will allow them to focus on the superior work of acquiring knowledge and calling others to goodness and stop physical weakness becoming an obstacle in this.
