The Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم and their enthusiasm

Dear Islamic brothers! Love of the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم is an everlasting treasure granted to the Companions عَلَیْہِمُ الرِّضْوَان, and one facet of this was their enthusiasm. This love can become part of their very personalities and beings.

Whatever state of the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم they saw, they would feel the same. When he smiled, they smiled. When he cried, they cried.

The final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was once on a journey accompanied by his Companions عَلَیْہِمُ الرِّضْوَان. During this, he passed by Abwāˈ (where Lady Āminah رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا is laid to rest, his blessed mother). He صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم then began to cry, and seeing this, the Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم too began to shed tears.

O those who love Allah’s Messenger! The point to note here is that the Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم also cried, but they did not know why. The words of the narration from ꜤAbdullāh b. MasꜤūd رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ say: فَبَکَیْنَا لِبُکَائِہٖ - “So we cried due to him crying.” Afterwards, the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم explained, “This grave here which you saw me near; this belongs to my mother, ꜤĀminah bint Wahb.”[1]

Dear Islamic brothers! Look at the disposition of the Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم in their love! It is easy to fake laughter, but crying without reason is not easy. Sometimes, in a state of grief, a person wishes to shed tears to relieve his pain, but tears do not flow. Crying can be difficult, but look at the astonishing love of the Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم. They were crying, but why? There is no other reason except their beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was crying.

This was how they were, highlighting how loving the Greatest Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم had become part of their nature. These sacred personalities
