Giving and taking with the right hand

Dear Islamic brothers! Here are some Madani pearls about giving and taking with the right hand. First, let’s listen to a hadith.

*    The Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “All of you should eat, drink, take, and give with your right hand, for Satan eats, drinks, takes, and gives with his left hand.”[1]

*    There are good omens associated with the right side, as it is the side of the people of Paradise.[2]

*    It is sunnah to eat and drink with the right hand.[3]

*    The angel who records good deeds is on the right side, because this is the superior direction.[4]

*    Mawlana Sardār Aḥmad Qādirī Chishtī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه said, “Use your right hand when giving and taking. This habit should become so deeply rooted, that when we are given our book of deeds on the Day of Judgement, we take it with the right hand.”[5]
