Rajab is the seventh month of the Islamic year. Many pious people passed away during this month, including Imam JaꜤfar Ṣādiq. His father was Imam Muhammad Bāqir, and his mother was Umm Farwah. His grandfather was Imam Zayn al-ꜤĀbidīn, and his great grandfather is Imam Ḥusayn.
Imam JaꜤfar Ṣādiq was an esteemed scholar. Many famous jurists gained knowledge from him, like Imam Abū Ḥanīfah, Imam Mālik, and Imam Sufyān Thawrī. He passed away on 15th Rajab 148 AH in Madinah and is buried in Al-Baqi cemetery.
