be able to see that individual?” The Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم replied, “O Abū Bakr! That heavenly individual is none but you!”^[1]

Dear Islamic brothers, you have heard of how the first caliph of Islam, Sayyidunā Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ is a very fortunate Companion, for he is the most superior of humans after the noble Prophets عَـلَـيْهِمُ الصَّلٰوة وَالسَّلام. Also, the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم gave him glad tidings of Paradise.

He also had the honour of accompanying the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم at all times. Even in the heavens, Allah placed his name next to the name of His most beloved Messengerصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.

As narrated by Sayyidunā Abū Hurayrah رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, the final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “I was taken on a journey through the skies. Whichever sky I passed, I found my name written there, and I also found the name of Abu Bakr written after mine.”^[2]  Hearing all of this, we should also have great love for Sayyidunā Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ so that Allah Almighty showers His mercy upon us for the sake of those He loves.

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

His passion of wishing well for others

Dear Islamic brothers, Amīr al-Muʾminīn Sayyidunā Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was bestowed with the best qualities and a pure character by Allah. Let us listen to some beautiful incidents regarding his blessed character.

Sayyidunā Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ had sincere passion for being good towards people and wishing well for them. This was the reason why he was especially compassionate to the Companions عَـلَيْهِمُ الرِّضْوَانْ who endured oppression and persecution due to accepting Islam.
