Encouragement for Pious Deed Number 54
Dear Islamic brothers, you have just heard that clothing an unclothed Muslim, feeding the hungry, and quenching the thirst of the thirsty are all excellent deeds. Let us also make an intention to help the needy, feed the hungry, and give water to thirsty Muslims اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه.
اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه Within the religious environment of Dawat-e-Islami, we are given the mindset to carry out countless such pious deeds. Therefore, become attached to this religious environment from today. In fact, from right now, practically take part in the 12 religious works and spread the call to righteousness.
Remember, filling in the Pious Deeds booklet is one of these 12 religious works. The 72 Pious Deeds are given to us by the renowned spiritual guide and Amir of Ahl al-Sunnah, Mawlana Ilyas Attar Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ, and they are an excellent means of becoming pious. The one who acts upon them consistently will gradually develop the habit of performing good deeds. One of these 72 Pious Deeds is pious deed number 54, which states: Today, (within the home and outside) did you try to avoid joking around, insulting others, hurting people’s feelings and laughing out aloud? (Remember! Hurting the feelings of a Muslim [without a valid shar’i reason] is a major sin).
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers, Amīr al-Muʾminīn Sayyidunā Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ is the fortunate Companion who was the first man to accept Islam. The renowned biographer ibn Is-ḥaq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ explains:
Sayyidunā Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ announced his Islam as soon as he became a Muslim. He then began inviting others towards Islam, for he was very soft-hearted among his people; he shared
