Tips on how to create a religious environment at home

Dear Islamic brothers, drawing the speech to its conclusion, we will gain the blessings of listening to some tips on how to create a religious environment in our homes.

Firstly, let us listen to two Prophetic statements:

1.   “Do not make your homes into graveyards. Indeed, Satan flees from the home in which Sūrah al-Baqarah is recited.”^[1]

2.   “The similitude of the home in which the dhikr of Allah is performed and the home in which the dhikr of Allah is not performed, is like that of the living and the dead.”^[2]

*    Recite salaam in a loud voice when entering and leaving the home.

*    Stand up out of respect when you see your parents coming.

*    At least once a day, Islamic brothers should kiss the hands and feet of their fathers, and Islamic sisters should kiss the hands and feet of their mothers.

*    Keep your voice low before your parents and never stare at them directly in their eyes.
