I responded, “O Lord! Then, I am ruined, and there is destruction for me.”

Allah Almighty said, “Do you remember, you were out from your house somewhere and you saw a thorn on the path? You removed it with the intention of protecting people from harm. I accepted that action of yours and forgave you for it.”[1]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Pious actions are not wasted

Dear Islamic brothers, we learn from this account that sometimes an act that outwardly appears minor can be a means of salvation. Therefore, one should not overlook any pious action, deeming it to be insignificant, because the action which is performed for the sake of Allah Almighty never goes to waste.

Blessings of virtuous deeds

اَلْحَمْدُلِلّٰہ Due to the blessings of pious deeds performed with sincerity, a person is saved from major calamities and earns the pleasure of Allah Almighty. A person also acquires the blessings of Paradise and attains salvation from the punishment of the grave and the Day of Resurrection. Performing pious deeds is a way to have sins forgiven and divine mercy descend. There is a good outcome in this world and the Hereafter for carrying out virtuous acts. Righteous deeds will appear in good, beautiful forms in the grave and will be a cause of peace and tranquillity. A person who performs virtuous deeds is recognised as good amongst people. A person’s lifespan increases due to good deeds. Pious deeds are a source of well-being, safety and salvation in this world and the
