They replied, “Yes.”

Upon this, he رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ said: “لَئِنْ کَانَ قَالَ ذٰلِکَ لَقَدْ صَدَقَ  If he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has said this, then undoubtedly he has spoken the truth and I testify to this saying of his without any hesitation.”

They said, “Do you also testify to the astonishing matter that he went to Bayt al-Muqaddas in the night and came back before dawn?”

He رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ said, “Yes! I also testify to the news of the heavens given by the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم day and night which is undoubtedly more surprising and astonishing than even this matter.”

After this event, he رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ became famous as al-Ṣiddīq.^[1]

O devotees of the Prophetic Companions and the Prophetic Household! You have heard that the first Companion to testify to the journey of MiꜤrāj was the unparalleled devotee, Leader of the believers, Sayyidunā Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ. Remember that after the noble Prophets and Messengers عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم he رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ is the most superior person amongst all mankind. He رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ possesses numerous virtues. He رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ is the first among men to embrace faith upon the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. He    رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ stayed with the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم during his travel and stay. He رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ was privileged to migrate with the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and attained such a rank where he رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ sacrificed his wealth, life, children, homeland, in short everything, upon the beloved Prophet        صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. This is the reason why he رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ attained a very elevated station in the court of Allah Almighty and also became deserving of
