Eminence of al-Ṣiddīq al-Akbar
On the sacred night of MiꜤrāj, when the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم went to Paradise, he صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم saw a palace adorned with silk curtains. The beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم asked Sayyidunā Jibrāˈīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم, “O Jibrāˈīl! Who is this for?”
He humbly replied, “For Sayyidunā Abu Bakr al-Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ.” [1]
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers! When the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم went ahead of Sidrat al-Muntahā, Sayyidunā Jibrāˈīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم stopped there and excused himself from going any further.[2]
The beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “I asked Jibrāˈīl عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم, “Have you seen your Lord?”
He عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم humbly replied, “There are seventy veils of light between me and my Lord. If I go near any one of them, I will get burnt.”[3]
Then, only the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم went ahead (alone from Sidrat al-Muntahā) and kept ascending. He صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم arrived at a place called al-Mustawā. Over here, the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم heard the sounds of writing of pens.[4]
