intentions, for the pleasure of Allah Almighty. At the same time, we also come to know that the one spending in the path of Allah Almighty gains reward ten-fold.   

In order to acquire passion for spending in the path of Allah Almighty, let’s listen to eight blessed Aḥādīth on the virtues of giving charity.

1.   The beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated, “Charity closes seventy doors of evil.”[1] 

2.   The final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم declared, “Every person will be under the shade of his charity [on the Day of Judgement], until judgement is made among people.”[2]

3.   The beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم mentioned, “Indeed, charity saves those who give it from the heat of the grave. And undoubtedly, a Muslim will be under the shade of his charity on the Day of Judgement.”[3]

4.   The final Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم explained, “Indeed, charity extinguishes the wrath of Allah Almighty and distances a bad death.”[4]

5.   The beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم advised, “Give charity early in the morning, as calamity does not overstep charity.”[5] 

6.   The final Prophet  صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated, “Undoubtedly, the charity of a Muslim increases lifespan and prevents a bad death. By virtue of it, Allah Almighty removes arrogance and boasting.[6]
