Book Name:Qaroon Ko Naseehat
with Caliph Sulaymān b. ꜤAbd al-Malik. (In earlier times, travel was conducted using camels, horses, etc., and servants would send ahead tents and necessary supplies to the destination, ensuring everything was ready upon arrival.)
While Caliph Sulaymān b. ꜤAbd al-Malik and others sent their tents ahead, Sayyidunā ꜤUmar b. ꜤAbd al-ꜤAzīz رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ did not send his belongings or tent in advance.
Upon reaching the destination, everyone went to their respective tents, but Sayyidunā ꜤUmar b. ꜤAbd al-ꜤAzīz رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ was nowhere to be seen. The Caliph instructed his servants, "Go and find him!"
After searching, they found him
sitting under a tree, weeping profusely. When the Caliph was informed, he
summoned him and asked:
"O Abu Ḥafṣ (ꜤUmar b. ꜤAbd al-ꜤAzīz)! Why are you crying?"
Sayyidunā ꜤUmar b. ꜤAbd
al-ꜤAzīz رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه, deeply immersed in
thoughts of the Hereafter, gave a profoundly thought-provoking response:
"I remembered the Day of Judgment. Look! (All of you sent your tents ahead
in advance, and upon arrival, you went straight into them, however,) I sent
nothing ahead from my home, so I have nothing here. The same will happen on the
Day of Judgment: one will only find what they have sent ahead for
themselves."[1]

Dear Islamic brothers! Truly, this is a matter of great reflection. If we spend all our resources solely on building our worldly lives and send nothing ahead for the Hereafter, then this world will soon perish, and we too will fade away. What will become of us in the Hereafter if we
