Recite phrases of affirmation of the Oneness of Allah, glorification and gratitude:  لَا اِلٰہَ اِلاَّ اللہُ سُبْحٰنَ اللہِ  - and اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه until you fall asleep. Remember, the state in which a person sleeps is the same state in which they will awaken, and ultimately, the same state in which they will rise on the Day of Judgment.

3. After waking, recite this supplication:

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیْۤ اَحْیَانَا بَعْدَ مَآ اَمَا تَنَا وَاِلَیْہِ النُّشُوْرُ

Translation: All praise is for Allah who gave us life after He caused us to die, and to Him is the return.[1]

4. Firmly resolve to live righteously upon waking, avoiding harming anyone, and striving to please Allah Almighty throughout the day.[2]

5. When boys and girls reach the age of ten, they should no longer sleep together. Furthermore, boys of this age should not share a bed with older boys or adult men.[3]

6. If a husband and wife are sharing a bed, they should not allow a boy aged ten or above to sleep with them. Boys who have reached puberty are treated as adults in this regard.[4]

7. Use miswak after waking up.

8. Waking up in the night to offer Tahajjud prayer is a great blessing.
