Book Name:Maut Ke Qasid
the translation of three thought-provoking Arabic verses from the book Bahr al-DumūꜤ published by Maktaba-tul-Madinah, and after sincerely repenting, resolve to spend the rest of your life in the worship of Allah Almighty.
1. "O old man! Despite the arrival of old age, are you still immersed in ignorance? At this stage of life, such an exhibition of ignorance is not befitting for you."
2. "The whiteness of your hair has already passed judgment on you, yet you remain inclined toward the world, and this transient world continues to deceive you."
3. "Leave behind your attachment to this fleeting world and your regrets over it, for one day you too shall depart from it. Move forward with firm resolve, free from any trace of frivolity."
The world compared to the Hereafter
It is narrated from Sayyidunā Mustawrid b. Shaddād رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ that the beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said:
By Allah! In comparison to the Hereafter, this world is like a person dipping their finger into the sea and then seeing how much water clings to their finger.[1]
Ḥakīm al-Ummah, Mufti Aḥmad Yār Khan NaꜤīmī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه explains:
This analogy is only to help us understand. In reality, the finite and perishable world cannot even be compared to the infinite and eternal Hereafter.
It is important to note that "worldliness" refers to anything that diverts one from Allah. For the wise and the devout, this world
