Sometimes, poor people express their longing by saying: "If only Allah Almighty had blessed us with wealth, we too would have helped others and earned reward."
For such individuals, this incident serves as a sufficient lesson.
Bear in mind that Allah Almighty has said:
مِمَّا رَزَقۡنٰہُمۡ یُنۡفِقُوۡنَ ۙ﴿۳﴾
spend in Our way from the sustenance We have granted them.[1]
The word rizq (provision) is used in the Quran, and scholars have interpreted it broadly. The definition of rizq does not only refer to wealth, but entails every blessing granted by Allah Almighty. Spending any of Allah Almighty's blessings in His way is considered charity.[2]
For example:
* Allah Almighty has given us hands, so removing harmful things from the path is charity.
* Allah Almighty has given us feet, so using them to go and help a fellow Muslim is charity.
* Allah Almighty has given us knowledge, so teaching others is charity.
* Allah Almighty has given us skills, so sharing them with others is charity.
Every blessing is from Allah Almighty, and when we use them to please Him and facilitate good for Muslims, it becomes an act of charity. Even
