اٰمِیْنْ بِجَاہِ خاتَمِ النَّبِیّٖن صلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہ ِوَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers! On the 3rd of Ramadan, we commemorate the life of the Prophet’s beloved daughter, the leader of women, Lady Fāṭimah al-Zahrāˈ رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا.
Today, we shall have the privilege of listening to a few aspects of her noble life.
Angels came to turn the hand mill
Umm Ayman رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ عَنْهَا was a female Companion of the Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and had been a servant in the household of his father, Sayyidunā ꜤAbdullāh رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ. After his passing, she remained in the service of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم from his blessed birth. Due to her immense care and service, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم used to say, "Umm Ayman is my second mother."[1]
She narrates: “Once, during the afternoon of a hot day in Ramadan, I went to the house of Fāṭimah رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا. The door was closed, and I could hear a hand mill grinding grains inside.”
In earlier times, hand mills made of stone were used to grind wheat into flour. Hearing the mill's sound meant that Lady Fāṭimah رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا was inside, grinding wheat. Yet, the situation was quite different! Through the gap of the door, she was amazed to see that the mill was operating by itself, grinding the grains. Meanwhile, Ḥasan and Ḥusayn رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم
